| Oct 23, 2010 | The Second Annual Run for the Gathering Inn Roseville California USA |
The morning mist was great for the runners, who came out in full force to support the Gathering Inn (a community-based resource to Roseville and South Placer County's homeless population). The DRB kick-started the race, and welcomed the runners, as they crossed the finish line. Very cool! |

| Aug 21, 2010 | 2010 Round Valley Blackberry Festival Covelo California USA |
Had a cool time at Blackberry Festival w/Bob Helme, Heidi Lambert, Gene Cox and Howard Wenz, as the Round Valley Hogcallers pulled together a nice folk-set for a fantastic crowd. Banjoist Warren Hellman, founder and host of San Francisco's 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival', joined the group for a rowsing rendition of Woody Guthrie's 'This Land is Your Land.' I also had the privilege of sitting in with the 'Blackberry Jammers' - an accordion/horn/string swing band, with a cast of 13 talented musicians, led by my good friends, Bob Pope and Rich Saunders. On a side note: I woke up early Sunday morning for a run in the hills, to watch the sun come up, along with the bobcats, bear, deer and red-tailed hawks. A-w-e-some!!! |

| Aug 20, 2010 | CD Release Party: "Song of the Bugs" Grass Valley California USA |
Release Party was a blast! Great performances from my favorite songwriters Lyndsey Barrett and Denny Russell, as well as a jaw-dropping solo from violist David Thorp, and a superb, original composition from guitarist Robert Russell. And, what would a CD Release Party be without a 'howlin' great performance by my four-legged pal, Buddy (accompanied by yours truly, on harmonica). Oh, yeah - and we even played a few selections from 'Song of the Bugs,' including 'Dung Beetle Blues' (with Robert on the theremin), 'Crazy 'Bout Bugs' (featuring rockin' piano by Don Stamey and rippin' guitar solos by Gary Pierazzi) and 'Luna Moth Lullaby' (featuring the mesmerizing talents of Mark Gilchrease on the 'e-bow'). The evening flew by way too fast - a good time was had by all! Thanks, friends and family, for your incredible support! |
